Bio
Nate Mask is an award-winning poet, storyteller, and spoken word artist from Atlanta, Georgia, currently based out of Champaign, Illinois.
He is a National Poetry Slam Group Piece champion, a Moth Story Slam winner, a multiple-time member of both the Java Monkey and Art Amok Slam Teams, and has toured the United States and Canada as part of the duo “Nobody Likes Us But We’re Here Anyway” with fellow Atlanta poet, Ryan J.
He has performed at Creative Loafing’s “Best of Atlanta” showcase, the Decatur Book Festival, Elevate ATL, Creative Mornings, Busboys & Poets, Write About Now, Rustbelt Poetry Festival, Southern Fried Poetry Slam,
the Individual World Poetry Slam, and the National Poetry Slam. Nate has been featured in such podcasts as
Off The Record by Forth District, Lit & Bruised, Good Gracious, on WABE NPR Atlanta’s City Lights, WRFG Atlanta’s Ridin Durty Radio, and in the online magazine, The Root.
Nate loves basketball, good food, and his beautiful family.
